These terms cover two things: your use of this website, and the basis on which we provide our services. They are written to be read, not to hide behind. If anything here is unclear, ask us before you engage us, and we will explain it.
Eagle Pen Global Enterprise is a writing, publishing and visual-communication business registered in Nigeria under Business Name Registration No. 3585862, with its office at 150 Ovwian Road, Ovwian, Udu, Delta State, Nigeria. In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Eagle Pen Global Enterprise; “you” means the person or organisation dealing with us.
By using this website you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.
The information on this site is general. It is not legal, financial, medical or academic advice for your particular situation, and it is not a substitute for engaging us to look at your actual project.
We provide professional services in four areas: writing and publishing (including manuscript development, biography and memoir writing, editing, typesetting and cover design); qualitative research support (methodological guidance, instrument design, analysis support and academic writing); work on religious intelligence and interfaith dialogue; and personal-development teaching, seminars and training.
We bring skill, care and honest judgement to every engagement. We do not promise a particular commercial or academic outcome — that a book will sell in a given number, that a manuscript will be accepted by a particular publisher, or that a thesis will receive a particular grade. Anyone who promises you that is not being straight with you.
For academic clients: we provide methodological guidance, analysis support and editorial help. The work you submit must be your own, and we do not knowingly assist with work that would breach your institution's rules.
Our process is the same one described on our home page:
No work begins, and no payment becomes due, until you have approved that written scope.
We agree the cost with you in writing before any work starts. The scope document states the total fee, the currency, the payment stages and the date each payment is due. If you instruct us to do substantial work beyond what that document covers, we will agree the additional cost with you in writing before we proceed, unless the extra work is minor.
Our fees are for professional time and for the work delivered. They are not payment for a guaranteed commercial result.
Where we have agreed a first payment before work begins, we start once it has been received. Any taxes or statutory charges that apply are as required by law.
Each of us will keep the other's confidential information confidential, and will use it only for the work we have agreed. This obligation continues after the engagement ends. It does not apply to information that is already public, that we already held lawfully, or that we are required by law to disclose.
The scope document gives the schedule we are working to. Dates depend on two things we cannot fully control: how quickly you return your corrections, and how quickly the suppliers involved — printers, for example — do their part. We will tell you promptly if a date is going to move, rather than let you discover it.
Either of us may end an engagement by writing to the other. Because we work in stages, what is payable when a project stops is the work completed and delivered up to that point; the scope document sets out how that is calculated. We will give you a written statement of the position. Any material of yours that we hold will be returned to you or deleted, as you direct.
If work we deliver does not match the scope we agreed, tell us promptly and we will put it right at our own cost. That is the standard we hold ourselves to.
Except where the law does not allow us to limit it, our responsibility for any claim connected with an engagement is limited to the fees you have paid us for the work in question. We are not responsible for indirect or consequential losses — for example lost profit or lost opportunity.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Where we link to another website, we do so for your convenience. We do not control those sites and we are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices. This site currently contains no third-party links.
We may update these terms. The version that applies to your engagement is the one in force when you approve your written scope; the current version is always the one published here, with the date shown at the top of the page.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and the courts of Delta State have jurisdiction. If a disagreement arises, we will both try to settle it by discussion first, in good faith, before anyone resorts to anything else.
