Eagle Pen Documentary and Historicity
Institutional histories, biographies of religious scholars and archival projects — researched to scholarly standard and finished as documents that outlive the people who commissioned them.
A generation that does not write its history
The full history of a church, seminary, district or denomination, researched from records and living witnesses and written for people who will read it in fifty years.
The lives and contributions of the men and women who built religious scholarship in this region — what they taught, wrote, founded and passed on.
Gathering what exists — minutes, letters, photographs, newsletters, registers — and securing it before damp, insects and forgetfulness finish their work.
Planning a documentary project properly: questions, sources, witnesses, ethics and permissions, so the material holds up under scrutiny.
Recording what people remember, properly and respectfully, and turning speech into a usable, citable record.
Finishing the project as a published book, monograph or documentary volume — edited, designed and printed.
