Eagle Pen CodeNext

The tools of the age, taught without surrendering character.

Children are already using artificial intelligence, whether or not anyone has taught them to. CodeNext teaches them to use it well: what it can do, what it must never be trusted with, and how to keep their own mind sharp while machines get clever.

What this window does

Technology is coming to your children either way.

What artificial intelligence actually is

Explained for a child — plainly, without fear and without worship. What it is doing when it writes, draws or answers.

First steps in coding

Building and making with code: small, finished projects that a child can show and explain to somebody else.

Integrity and honesty

How to use these tools without lying, without cheating, and without passing off another's work — in school work and in life.

Safety, privacy and screens

What never to type into a machine, what to do when something frightening appears, and how to keep attention under control.

School programmes and holiday bootcamps

Structured programmes run in schools, churches and holiday camps, with everything supplied.

Briefings for teachers and parents

The adults are usually further behind the children. These sessions bring them level, quickly and without embarrassment.

Questions people ask

Answered plainly

At what age can a child begin?
Children from about eight years are ready for the literacy sessions; coding starts from about ten, depending on the child and the class.
What equipment is needed?
The programme is designed to work in ordinary Nigerian classrooms. Where a venue has limited computers, children work in pairs and nothing is lost.
Are the machines going to replace the teacher?
No, and we say so to the pupils directly. A child who understands a tool is not mastered by it.
